What To Wear For Your Senior Session: 3 Tips from a Southern Minnesota Senior Photographer
Woohoo! The time is here…you are finally a senior! That means there are so many exciting things ahead of you this year…including your senior photos! Senior pictures are supposed to be FUN! But what do you wear?!? Let’s be real, sometimes picking outfits can be a bit overwhelming. Don’t worry, I’ve got your back!
Here are a few styling tips from a Mankato, Minnesota senior photographer!
1.Mix it up!
When planning your outfits, make sure that you have a variety of looks! Mix it up with some casual outfits and some dressy outfits. Be sure to also add variety by choosing different types of clothing as well. For example, instead of picking 3 dresses, you can pick one dress, one outfit with jeans, and a cute romper for your final outfit.
Think about the different sides of your personality and try to showcase that in what you choose to wear. Your outfit choices should show off your own personal style and speak to who you are!
2.Choose fitting colors!
Do you have a favorite color? Is there a color that makes your eyes pop beautifully? Or a color that fits your skin tone best? Then incorporate those colors into the outfits you choose! When choosing colors for your outfits, also keep in mind the color of the location of your photos. You want to be sure you don’t blend in too much with the surrounding setting. We want you to stand out! For example, if you are taking pictures in a location with a lot of greenery, avoid choosing outfits that are green.
3. Be true to yourself!
My number one rule for all of my seniors is….Be comfortable and be true to yourself! We want your senior photos to reflect the true YOU! Do you love wearing high heels? Ok, great! Go for it! If you don’t normally wear high heels and that doesn’t speak to your own personal style, then don’t feel pressured to wear high heels for your photos! If there are pieces in your closet that make you feel self-conscious or uncomfortable, then leave them at home and do not incorporate them into the outfits for your senior session. Choose outfits that you feel good in! If you feel good, that will naturally shine in your photos!
