Four Ways to Make Your Senior Photos Unique : Tips from a Mankato Minnesota Photographer
The goal for senior photos is for them to represent YOU! Your senior pictures should show off who you are as a person. We want your pictures to represent your personality and your story. YOU are unique. So your senior photos should be unique too! So how can we make your senior photos represent you?
Here are four ways to make your senior photos unique!
1 - Choose a location that is meaningful to you
Take pictures at your favorite spot in town whether it be your fav local coffee shop or the beautiful garden in the nearby park that you love. Perhaps your own backyard is your own personal oasis that should be captured in your photos. Maybe you feel perfectly at home on the tennis court, basketball court, or baseball field. Head downtown if you love the buzz of city life or sneak away to the outskirts of the country if that's more your speed.
There's so many location possibilities! Don't feel the pressure to choose what other seniors are doing. Choose the location that speaks to you!
2 - Add accessories for an extra pop of fun
Accessories are a small but effective way of adding a unique touch to your photos! You can show off a bit of flair with some fun statement earrings. You can show off your personality by choosing your favorite pair of sneakers or your go-to-heels. Add a hat for something to hold or toss in the air. A bouquet of flowers can be a beautiful unique detail. The possibilities are endless!
3 - Bring along your pet
Senior photos become unique when you show off what you love! So if you have an animal in your life that you love, take some photos together! Whether it is your dog, cat, hamster, turtle, horse, bird, cow (need I go on?), bring your pet along!
4 - Incorporate your hobbies
Your hobbies and interests are a BIG thing that show off your unique personality. Find ways to incorporate those interests into your senior session. If you are big into sports, wear your uniform, use your gear (a ball, bat, hockey stick, snowboard, running shoes, you name it!), or showcase your trophies and medals. If you love cars, choose a location where you can pose by your favorite car. If you are passionate about dancing, incorporate dance poses into your photos. If you are a coffee connoisseur, take pictures with a mug in your hands at your favorite coffee shop. There are so many fun ways to include what you love!
These are only four ways to make your senior pictures unique, but there are SO many more ways to show off the unique YOU in your photos! Before your senior session, we will work together to personalize your session as much as possible.
YOU are unique! So let’s make your senior photos unique too!
